Disney Plus Announces January 2022 Programming Schedule

Disney+ has announced its January 2022 listing of titles, including new episodes of X-Men: First Class and The Book of Boba Fett. Marvel Studios' Eternals makes its streaming debut in the middle of the month, followed by Assembled: The Making of Hawkeye. Other new titles in the library include Betty White Goes Wild! and Vets on the Beach (seasons 1-2).

Marvel Studios' Eternals

If you're in the market for a new superhero movie, there's a good chance you'll be watching Marvel Studios' Eternals for the first time in January 2022. This fantasy adventure stars a stellar ensemble cast including Gemma Chan as the human Sersi, Richard Madden as the cosmic-powered Kingo, and Lia McHugh as the ever-young old soul Sprite. The film premiered in November 2021 and is available to all Disney Plus subscribers for no extra charge. It won't be available to Premier Access subscribers.

The series follows the adventures of a group of superpowered heroes from another planet, Earth. Each has a unique mission, preserving human civilization. But their relationship and friendships are tested when the Deviants start to reappear in the present day. It's also full of ensemble cast members, including Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Barry Keoghan, Angelina Jolie, and Brian Tyree Henry.

The movie's release on the streaming service follows the Avengers: Endgame, which forces the gang to band together against the Deviants. Eternals was released in theaters last November, but it's coming to Disney+ on Jan. 12 and will join 13 other IMAX-enhanced Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. The IMAX format offers an even more immersive experience, as it has a larger aspect ratio than standard movies.

In January 2022, Disney will debut the fourth of its Marvel Cinematic Universe films on Disney+, including Eternals.
