The film, which is based on the life of real-life drug smuggler Frank Lucas, follows the capture and work of the narcotics officer as he exposes the crimes of a gang.

The movie received generally positive reviews and is a nod to classic gangster films. When it finished production in July 2015, it was already in a completed state.

Sicario

The second installment of the "Sicario" franchise features Brolin as federal agent Matt Graver, who is trying to fight off Mexican drug cartels. In this sequel to the 2015 original, Matt enlists the help of an enigmatic assassin, Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), to begin a drug war.
